Client side TAF functionality is not working in 11.2.0.3 RAC with default database name as Service name. Did something change in 11.2.0.3 .

In the previous release we had the failover_setting in tnsnames.ora on client side and we used to connect to Database name as Service name.

That is we never defined seperate service in the cluster . We used to connect the Database using sqlplus and as and when the instance to which we were connected crashed or shutdown, we got failed over to the working node.

Suddenly we observed that the client side TAF functionality is not working any more with default database Service name.  We have raised an SR for it, but we did not get much help . We have escalated the SR and waiting on it .

Howdy, Stranger!
