NUMA (Non Uniform Memory Architecture)

Hi All,

Does anyone have experience of using NUMA in a vmware esx5 environment running windows 2008 R2 64bit OS with Oracle 11G R2 installed?

I have read the following:

https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocumentDisplay?_afrLoop=387577468087223&id=759565.1&_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.ctrl-state=rrzbjz7zx_88

It looks like a useful feature but wondering if there are limitations, for instance if we have many Oracle instances on the Host etc.

Would NUMA be used in windows environments or is it unix/linux specific feature?

Thanks

Hakan
