Bonus depreciation not using adjusted cost

Hello,

We applied bonus depreciation and found that the 50% is applied against the asset's initial cost rather than the cost after adjustments.  Is there a reason why the original cost is used and not the adjusted cost?  Is there a way to get bonus depreciation to use the adjusted cost instead?
