Scope of EAM Asset Number linking to FA Asset Number?

Dear Experts,

I wanted to understand the scope of linking EAM Asset Number to FA Asset Number. Means, When we are creating the Asset number in EAM we have an option to link FA Asset number under Others Tab.

I have an basic undrstanding of this linkage but It would be helpful if anybody can help by explaining it in business scenario. Very Urgent!
