Pathcodes on the deployment Server

Hello All ,

I have a very basic question regarding the path code that we have on the deployment server .

I am aware that for applying any update in the form of ESU/ASU we user the Planner (JDEPLAN) Path code .

And For doing Full builds we use the Deployment (DEP910) pathcode .

Is this the only reason of having different path codes ?

Any document that may reveal more details of the difference between the 2 path codes will be highly appreciated .

I am currently using the Application Release 9.1 and Tool release 9.1.4.6.
