ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL for MANUFACTURER_ID in Item Master

Hi,


We've encountered the following error during saving of manufacturer and part number for an item.

     ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into APPS.MTL_MFG_PART_NUMBERS.MANUFACTURER_ID
     ORA-06512: at APPS.MTL_MFG_PART_NUMBER_PKG, line 41


These error occurs randomly upon saving a part number for an item in Master Items form. We tried to replicate the errors on ou test environment but we were able to save the part number for the item without any issue. What could be the root cause of this and how do we permanently fix this one.

     Oracle 11.i product version
