IPMP groups w/ single aggregations on S10 w/ SC 3.3u2

Hello Experts,

we are using IPMP groups w/ single aggregations on S10 SC 3.3u2. Load balancing and failover is handled transparently and completely by the underlying aggregation framework. That said we are having i.e. IPMP group sc_ipmp0 which includes only one aggregation called aggr1 consisting of NIC vnet1 and vnet2.

Following questions:

Q1: Do we need to mark the single aggregation as "non-failover" aggregation in /etc/hostname.<AGGR> by adding the -failover option ?

Q2: What is the difference between ifconfig failover and -failover option in this scenario ?

We noticed that SC adopts /etc/hostname.<AGGR> automatically during cluster setup in case the aggregation has not already been configured in an IPMP group. It creates IPMP groups and marks single aggregations as non-failover.

Howdy, Stranger!
