Utilizing Advanced Warehouse Management Subsystem

We have never utilized the Advanced Warehouse Management subsystem process. We are experiencing slowness in the R46171 manual processing time, am I correct in thinking that utilizing the use of the subsystem will improve the processing time? I have watched the R46171 take anywhere from 3 to 15 minutes to process and then the corresponding Task/Trip, move slips, move tags jobs process immediately (under a minute each). I have a copy of the Document 625418.1 regarding Subsystem Processing, but wanted to confirm that this is the right path for my company to head down.
