Updating an eBS Concurrent Request Program Status from an ODI program

We currently have several ODI procedures registered as eBS Oracle Concurrent Programs.  So when we select the Oracle ODI Concurrent programs, these programs call out to ODI to run the ODI procedures.  These ODI procedures usually take several minutes to run/complete but the eBS Oracle Current Request status already displays "COMPLETED".  What I really want the Concurrent Request to display is the true status:  Pending or Running, and only display "Completed" when the ODI job is really done.  Is there any way for the Oracle Concurrent Request Program to check the status of any external program or job so the
