Error "SBL-UIF-00277" when associating Account/Partner records

We're in the middle of upgrading to OpenUI (8.1.1.11.13).

Our application allows association between Accounts and Partners via an Account/Partner view.

I get "SBL-UIF-00277" about 50% of the time when I create a new account as follows:

1) From Account/Partner view

2) New Account in top form applet

3) Enter account name, primary address, contract state, and set to Active Prospect (status & Type)

4) Use CTRL + S to save the record

5) Click Add (to associate a partner to the new account)

This pops up the "SBL-UIF-00277" error and blanks all fields in the view- see screenshot.

I set Event Level Logging to 5 for our object manager and found this in the log:
