Questions about switching to uek from rhel 5 and rhel6

Hi

We've started deploying Oracle Linux 6 (3.8.13-44.1.1.el6uek.x86_64) on our newer hosts, but most of our hosts run rhel 5 and 6 x86-64.  Almost everything we have becomes an an Oracle cluster; CRS is either 11.2.0.4 or 12.1.0.2.

I've seen the note on switching from Red Hat to ULN, and it seems like a conversion, not a deinstall and reinstall.  My questions:

Is this correct, or are we starting from scratch with ULN?

If it's a true switch, how does this affect the Oracle products I have installed on the clusters?  Does everything just work after the switch?  I'm looking for the steps to preserve my existing products, disk groups, resources, databases, etc.

Howdy, Stranger!
