2540 Service Interface Menu will not come up

Hi all,

     I'm trying to get into the 2540 controller using the serial interface. No matter what I do I cannot get the Break to be recognized. I know I have been able to do this before but for some reason I cannot get it to work. I believe this controller was used before. Maybe that is causing the problem?

If anyone has any ideas on what to try, I would be glad to hear them. Maybe there is a way to reset the controller to factory defaults?
