Does item level contract subline for ATO model cover all subsequent configurations

Creating a contract coverage at ITEM LEVEL (ATO model). Does that covered all the subsequent ATO * configurations ?   Will Teleservice apply this item level coverage when a serialized * item is used to create Service request ?

ATO Model: ABC-CD

Configured item (serialized) : ABC-CD*12121
