Signaling and Media

Implementing first large SIP tunking with two carriers. Litle confued on the basics trying to make sure I understand other than playing in a lab. Maybe I don't have the right doc trying to find this so apologies.

 

What is responsible for SIP signaling. One point I think Session Agent, next I think Network interface, then same breather I think SIP Interface.

 

Media I think i Steering Pool.

 

So if a carrier is giving me IPs for signanling and media what is tied to what.

 

So for the simple question and I have been searching through docs but nothing stands out clear to me.
