Benefits of using different IPs on SIP interface and Steering Pool?

Hi

 

I would like to know what the benefits are of using different IP addresses on the SIP interface and Steering Pool for a particular realm?

 

Besides the obvious that it might be easier to troubleshoot while looking at debugs etc. I.E signaling is sent to IP X and media to IP Y.

 

I've seen a couple of installations where the SIP interface IP and Steering Pool IP is the same.
