Will SBC allow early media/Rington before 18x - or with 18x without SDP?

Hi folks,

 

I've just read the CLI guide for 6.3, and I am trying to ensure that I've understod how early media is handled by the SBC.

 

It mentions being able to block/forward early media depending on the configuration of "early-media-allow" parameter for the realm.

 

First, the simple question. It says: "There is no default value. If you leave this parameter blank, early media is allowed in either direction". In other words, there is a default value, and it is equal to "both"?

 

Or is there actually a difference between "" and "both"?

 

Secondly, I'd like a clarification on the SBC's "definition" of actual media, since I'm not to happy with the one I've found in our PGW
