The importance of the media profile

Hello everyone,

I've working recently with codec policies and checking the documentation regarding their relationship to media profiles, it  states:

"For each codec that you specify in a codec policy, there must be a corresponding media profile configuration on the
Oracle Communications Session Border Controller. You configure media profiles in the ACLI via the session-router
path. In them, you can specify codec type, transport protocol, required bandwidth, and a number of constraints."

Am I supposed to configure a media profile for every codec I'd like to allow (show in the sdp) in the sip messages?

What would happen if I just specify the codec policy with no media profiles?, there would be an impact in the possible scenarios using the policy?

Howdy, Stranger!
