SIPREC Wireshark Help: Viewing SIPREC XML Metadata (application/rs-metadata+xml)

edited Oct 1, 2012 6:08PM in Acme Packet (MOSC) 2 commentsAnswered

As you are aware, SIPREC includes an XML blob attached to the SIP INVITE (as well as other messages) between the SBC (Session Recording Client / SRC) and the Recording Server (Session Recording Server/SRS). This XML messages include the information about the call being recorded (i.e. the Communication Session). The recording server requires this information in order to attribute information to the audio file of the recording. XML metadata is core to the SIPREC protocol and the recording server will need to parse this XML and handle it appropriately in addition to caputring the audio from the SIPREC RTP.

Howdy, Stranger!
