The Session Recording Protocol (SIPREC) relies on SIP, SDP and RTP to record a call. All recording session occurs between a Session Recording Client (SRC) and a Session Recording Server (SRS) specific to a of a communication session (CS) that passes through an SBC and between multiple user agents.   For most cases referenced here, the SRC is the SBC or a SIP application server and the SRS is Net-Net ISR or a 3rd Party Call Recorder (e.g., Nice Systems).
