ECx vs. SCx images

Hi all,

 

lately I stumbled upon a NetNet-3820 running with an E-Cx 6.3.7 image on it. That surprised me a bit, was thinking NetNet E-Cx images would be provided staring with 6.4 actually.

 

So now am wondering about the following:

 

1. can I expect to configure available features as am used to on an S-Cx Image? Are there any limitations(i.e. HMRs regex or option missing, SIP-config Options not implemented in E-Cx, restriction to codec transcoding) compared to S-Cx version of same image, beside some features not being implemented?

 

2. What if I would like to move from E-Cx to S-Cx, any impact to the configured features, any legal stuff I need to take care off?
