ZFS State After Live Upgrade

Hi - wonder if someone can answer me a question about ZFS please, I posted this thread (now archived) around 10 months ago - ZFS state after live upgrade whereby some directories were left behind and I couldn't work out why. Well after looking at this again it's just dawned on me that what a user called Roland replied with was right - I'd just glossed over this though and forgot all about this until recently.

So what I would like to know is, would it be possible to do the following without issue:

I have the following ZFS filesystem:

rpool/export/zones              102G   290G   102G  /export/zones
