Inventory Asset tracking for a loaner unit

Hi there...

Scenario:

Ship out a IB tracked Item(A) to a Customer location. But, it is not a direct sale, it is only a loaner unit . So, IB ownership need to be retained: This can be done through standard Oracle(Loaner functionality).


Issue1 : How to track the Inventory/Asset, inspite of being shipped out, as it is still our own unit(A). We need to be able to track the onhand for the Inventory Item/Asset(A).


Issue2 : Once we decide to sell that earlier shipped unit(A) à How do we change ownership in IB. Note, that there is no inventory onhand to ship it(A) out again.
