Search pattern in drop down fields is different in Open UI

Search pattern in drop down fields is different in Open UI. For eg: If we click the drop down button in the country field and type "p", it shows "Cape Verde" at first. But in HI Client, when we do the same, the first value came up is "Pakistan".

It looks like the search in open ui is using 'contains' instead of finding the key word as the fisrt letter. Id it the open UI behaviour? Is there any way to make it same as HI client.
