Failed/removed hard drive not detected

As part of testing a new system running Solaris 11.2 with latest updates, I removed a hot swappable SATA drive that was in a zpool.  I didn't receive any notifications or alerts.

zpool status -lx says that all pools are healthy

cfgadm -l shows the drive as still connected

fmadm faulty doesn't have any events

I've read of similar issues, but the problem was "fixed" in an update for 11.1.
