EBS Profile requires that the DB user be 'APPS'

In our implementation of EBS, the 'APPS' user is actually named 'APPS_FND'. This is a relic from the past, as our system was deployed as Oracle Applications version 9. We have upgraded over the years and are now at version 12.1.
Because of this username mismatch, orachck skips all the checks in the 'ebs' profile. Is there a way around this? Can we somehow tell orachk to look for the 'APPS_FND' user instead?
This seems to be the code that is checking for the APPS user.
