Mapping and Transformation Question

I am new to FDQM and have a question concerning mappings and transformations. I am using version 11.1.2.3 of FDQM, Essbase and Planning. My source file is an Excel spreadsheet with multiple tabs. In the past, we have loaded data to our target (which is Essbase used by a Planning application) after manually editing the spreadsheet in the following ways:
1. Deleting columns of data we won’t need and renaming column headings.
2. Checking for duplicate records.
3. Adding dimensions not represented in the data.
4. Re-arranging data using pivot tables and sorting rows.
5. Transforming values by prepending text or removing text from the original values and using “find and replace”.
