Decimal places for PO versus AP invoice

Not sure which community to post this question in.

We are on 12.1.3.  Sometimes our users create a PO with a quantity of 1 and a unit price of some dollar amount, say US$6986.25.  They decide to split the distribution among several POETAs, and this leaves them with a quantity ordered for each distribution that is a fraction going out to 15 decimal places, and it adds up to 1.000000000000000.

When an invoice is matched (we match by quantity), the distributions only go out to 9 decimal places, and they add up to a quantity of 0.999999999.  The invoice is fully paid, but the PO does not close because the full quantity has not been matched.  Tax is not a factor in these invoices.  Our rounding precision is 2 decimal places.

Howdy, Stranger!
