What is the order of operations in the ASCP Plan?

I have learned from Oracle documentation that the ASCP plan first performs netting and then performs pegging.  Does anyone have further detail on this?  For example, Are the netting and pegging performed for an item (FG1) and then the netting and pegging are performed for its components (RM1, RM2)?  Or is the netting performed throughout the plan, (FG1, RM1, RM2) and then the pegging follows after?  And when is scheduling performed? At what point in this process is the date assigned to a planned order - before or after pegging?

 

Our bill of materials is ten levels deep, and it is often difficult to sort out the effects of small changes.
