Using JDE to track the Tool Crib

We are looking at using JDE to track the consumable we use . Wondering if we should put those items as part as our Main Manufacturing Inventory or put them in another branch.  Has anyone setup a Tool Crib in JDE? Any there any documents on how JDE treats consumable? Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks
