Unable to create UC against Manufactured Assembly Instance

Hi,

We have an issue with creating Unit configuration.

Steps followed:

1) Received the order from customer and created a BOM for that order and using manufacturing workorder build the order.

2) Once the Manufacturing is complete Instances are created in Install base with parent child relationship as per the manufacturing BOM.

3) Manufactured assembly was shipped to the customer location.

4) Created a master configuration with few repairable components.

5) When trying to create a UC from the MC, system is not able to search for the instance of parent assembly that was manufactured and shipped to customer location.

Why the system is not able to search the Instance of manufactured assembly? Is it mandatory to define all positions and AIGs in Master configuration against IB configuration (parent/child relationships) developed during Mfg? Can you pls suggest?
