Can we have a cost sub-element with a negative cost?

Hello,

Our customer operating in the TMT industry has a situation like this - they have a refurbishment business where items returned are re-furbished and sold again to customers. Now for these items they are maintaining a separate cost. However the cost for the items would vary depending on the LOB for the product. For some products the revalued cost is only 10% on return and for some they are about 70% on return. In their current system, the customer is handling this process manually.
