Can we send Sales order Acknowledgement report output through e-commerce gateway to customer using b

Hello Gurus,

Currently in our project we have below requirement about sending sales order acknowledgement to customer through e-commerce gateway using Business Event.

First of all we wanted to know the out-of-box functionality for Sales Order Acknowledgement process in R 12.1.3??

Secondly we want to know if there is any feasibility to send Sales Order Acknowledgment to customer through EDI/E-Commerce Gateway using business events like sending PO Acknowledgement to suppliers in R12.1.3??

Please share your thoughts and any possible workarounds to meet above mentioned requirement.
