French character not displaying properly in the outlook email attachment

Hi,

We are sending a email from ebs to outlook using mutt. The email contains attachment with french characters (like élastiques) and other characters (like g/m²). It sends the mail properly but when we open the attachment in the email directly, it doesn't show these french characters or other characters instead it shows some junk characters (�lastiques). The command we used to send email is below.

echo "$vbody" | /usr/bin/mutt -x -a $TEXTFILE -s "$SUBJECT_MAIL" $MAIL

Please advise how we can have the file in the email with proper characters.
