Essbase calculation between two dates

Hi,

Is it possible to develop a dynamic calculation in Essbase (ASO) to calculate

a sum between two dates.

Assuming there is daily transaction,

01/01/15

02/01/15

.

.

.

30/12/15

31/12/15

And our user want to analyse a sales data for a specific period, e.g. between 12 Jan - 27 Jan 2015.

Is there a way in essbase to be able to dynamically calculate the total between the two dates?

The idea is the user can dynamically specify the range of the date which they want each time they retrieve the data.

I'm open to suggestion, either using essbase or smart view or other intelligent tools to do this.
