Active - Pasive Cluster and an alternative procedure to install and configure ASM 11.2.x standalone

Hi,

Reading both documents:

Alternative Procedure To Install and Configure ASM 11.2.0.X On Unix/Linux Configurations (Standalone) (Doc ID 1962225.1)

How To Setup ASM (11.2 & 12.1) On An Active/Passive Cluster (Non-RAC). (Doc ID 1296124.1) 

I guess that it is perfectly OK , installing Active/Passive cluster without NODE1DG , NODE2DG if we also follow

Alternative Procedure To Install and Configure ASM 11.2.0.X On Unix/Linux Configurations (Standalone) (Doc ID 1962225.1) , which among others includes the step for  ora.cssd:

$> <New 11.2.0.X Grid Infrastructure Oracle Home>/bin/crsctl modify resource "ora.cssd" -attr "AUTO_START=1" 

In this case cssd will start even if we don't have any ASM diskgroups with spfile.ora for the ASM instance.
