Proxy Assets Pitfalls

G'day,

I am using the Proxy Asset feature to integrate YouTube videos and have seen a few problems:

  1. Proxy assets are not in the search index. So a search in the contributor UI for "ALL" does not pull up the Proxy assets.
  2. The fields for fw.ui.GridFormatter.thumbnailFormatter does not accept fields not indexed.

Are there are more that I should be aware of? Would it be better to just skip using Proxy assets and have a event to create real assets instead?
