Google removes Java support from Chrome - What does it mean for Open UI?

Hi All,

It seems like Google has finally removed support for NPAPI starting with Chrome 42. Effectively, it means Java will no longer be supported in Chrome.

I know there's some Open UI functionality which relies on Java, especially the ability to directly open and edit file attachments from within Siebel "on the fly" !

See: https://java.com/en/download/faq/chrome.xml

And also Richard's post on Siebel Hub Blog: http://www.siebelhub.com/main/2015/04/java-and-google-chrome.html

During our Open UI migration journey, we faced a lot of issues which would only occur on IE10/11, so we decided to deploy Chrome as our browser for Siebel.

Howdy, Stranger!
