RAC failover test : Bringing down private interconnect on master node is causing instance terminatio

Hello Friends,

We were trying few RAC failover test scenarios and found an issue with one of the test case.

i.e. to bring down private interconnect (eth0) on node1/master node is causing instance termination across cluster.

Here are the details -

2 node RAC system with Oracle 11gR3 database and GRID software with ASM storage.

Shutdown eth0 on node1 - Results observed:

-- Cluster services partially go down on node2

-- Both ASM and database instances terminate on node2

--- Cluster services are up and running fine on node1 (where eth0 is shut down)

--   ASM is up on node1 , but database instance is terminated.
