Asset Item definition!

Hello Experts,

As Standard practice, to procure different types of Smart Phone-Asset item (At least once in a month), is it advisable to use only one item code instead of many?

If we use one item code or multiple code what will be considerable impact.

Kindly advise.(URGENT)
