$$SG$$1 format for item number in excel is not user friendly

Item number is the only identifier to link multiple rows of single item being created using excel. But since item number is auto-generated, user has to fill the values $$SG$$1, $$SG$$2 in the item number column for each item. We have reference of this in the PIM user guide

However, customer has concerns about the $$SG$$ format key since it is difficult to remember and user might enter it wrong format. Any other simpler format we can use instead of $$SG$$???

Provided to the customer the solution mentioned in How to Upload Items with Multi-Row User Defined Attributes from Excel whose Item Number is Function or Sequence Generated ? (

Howdy, Stranger!
