Future dated payments in iReceivables

Hi All

We see that when future dated payment(Bank ACH) is applied in iReceivables,system applies the changes and sets the status as 'Closed'. Payment is not yet thru its for future date shouldn't it be set as 'Confirmed' Please confirm
