AP period close before Inventory

Hi

Going through the document Period Close Advisor: E-Business Suite (EBS) (Doc ID 335.1).

Its suggested to close AP period before Inventory and Purchasing period.

How the ERS invoice will be created for any material received in the open inventory period. and what is the rational behind closing Inventory period after AP period, I am not sure.
