Updating Serial Number and Asset key and PO Number in FA Base tables

Hi all,

Can you please tell me if I can perform an update to asset serial number and asset key directly in FA_ADDITIONS_B table through a concurrent program? Is it allowed by Oracle to hit Oracle FA base table directly in this manner? If not, is there any alternative that you can suggest for us?

Also, we would like to update PO Number of an asset, but it doesn't seem to be allowed by Oracle ... Can you please confirm if this is the case and provide a reason behind it? PO Number does not seem to have any financial impact to fixed assets ...
