ASM Performance degradation if migrate from two storage boxes to one

Hi Guys,

our service provider will migrate our storage boxes from a mirrored asm configuration, to an unmirrored  configuration:

OLD:

normal redundancy, two failgroups on two boxes

NEW:

external redundancy, only one box

This is a customer requirement in order to save costs.

My question is, whether we lost performance if we only still have one storage box under the ASM layer?

Theoretically we have only still half the amount of disks...
