connection slow

We are using a third party gateway to Oracle 11g (Gupta, Centura, Unify, you name it) and it turns out that every connect to the database is very slow.

It can well be in the gateway DLL (Windows) but to find out what's oing on I've read that TNS logging being a tool to find out possible causes.

How do I enable TNS loggin on both, the server and the client side?
