BI Publisher - Number in DB appearing as LONG bi publisher

Folks,

When I do  :

"select client_id, client_wid, client from clients"   the column client_id and client_wid appear as LONG in the group in the data model in bi publisher. See attached screen shot.

whereas in the database table they are NUMBER(11,0).

Why is it appearing as LONG datatype and not a Double or Integer .. ?

I am using BI Publisher within OBIEE.   (as opposed to standalone ..../xmlpserver/ ....)

OBIEE version is 11.1.1.7.140527  and is installed on a Windows 2008 R2 server.
