How to share fibre channel luns accross db and apps servers --R12

Hi,

We are upgrading to new storage and as part of that we are planning to move our R12 applications to Fibre channel storage LUNS. Our Unix admin is saying that we can not share the Luns across db and applications servers and would like to know alternatives.
