Impact of having data in interface tables when upgrading to R12

Hi

We are upgrading from 11.5.10.2 to R12.2.4 in a short while.

We have many historical records in the GL_interface , ap_invoices_interface and other interfaces.

Users are reluctant to clear the interfaces subject to audit concurrence.

what is the impact , if any, of doing the upgrade keeping the data in the interfaces AS IS.

Appreciate if any of you could get back with a quick update on this.
