Programmatically remove list of members from outline

Version: 11.1.2.2.500

I have a planning application that has projects and accounts imported from EBS via ODI. After several years these members become obsolete, will never in the future be used, and need to be removed. Is there a programmatic way to remove a list of members (possibly 1000's) from the planning outline and then safely refresh to EssBase? Any thoughts?
