Hi,

Today I was working on a recovery scenario.

Case: We have DB cold backup along with controlfile. DB was in no archivelog mode.

DB version: 11.2.0.3

HA  :  RAC one Node environment - 2 node

Glitch: Under mysterious condition, a third thread redo group had been created by someone in FRA as there was no db_recovery_file_dest parameters set

Without knowledge of , the third thread redologs were physically removed from FRA

Event Sequence: while attempting to convert db to archivelog mode, I had shut down and tried to open db

Consequence:

Errors in file /oracle/XXXX/db/diag/rdbms/xxxx/XXXX_2/trace/XXXX_2_arc2_31348.trc:

Howdy, Stranger!
